Well, Jim is still in the hospital. They have ruled out another heart infection. Whew!!! And Leukemia Whew!!!
He definately has something going on w/ the lungs, but they aren't sure what. Did the lungs cause the white blood cell count to drop or vice versa. They gave him a large dose of Prednisone. That night, he went into prednisone psychosis. Not nice for him. So, they stopped the Prednisone, but the the lungs got bad again. When they give Prednisone, the white blood cell (WBC) count usually goes up. His went down even further. So, they had to give him a neupogen shot. the WBC's went up. Then they gave him another shot.
Tomorrow they are going to do a bronchiscope to get a biopsy of phlegm to see what weird thing he has going on now.
The biggest thing is prayer is needed that his white blood cell count stays up. If it doesn't, well, they will do a bone marrow biopsy, and determine if he has this bone marrow disorder,. Myleo... MDS. If he does, he will require chemo. It's not good, if he has this. So, please pray.
