changing the name of the blog. LOL

Okay, so I think I'm late again.  And besides that I'm not even going to talk about Jim.

What would I change the name too?  Jim's Juice.  Jim's Jigger of Juice.  Why?

Cause we just racked our first carboy of Elderberry wine.  AND IT'S GOOOOOOOOOD.

Yeah, so this August, Leah and Kim and I made Elderberry jelly up the cottage.  For some reason, I wanted to make Elderberry wine.  So I was a berry picking fool.  I picked and picked and then took the berries off and....I had always wanted to make Elderberry wine, so I decided I was going to.  I bought what I needed --(Hey, Joe, can I have that grape win press I gave you back???)  and away I went.  I put it in the primary, and transferred it to the secondary and now I just racked it for the first time.  And tasted it, and it's going to be wonderful.  WONDERFUL.  If I can wait the 6 months to 2 years it take to age.

I thought it was something that Jim and I could do together.  You don't have to sit while making wine, so, together this is what we are doing.  Now we have the 6 gallons of Elderberry aging before we rack it again, but in 1 gallon bottles we have going Elderberry/Cranberry, Grape from Welch's concentrate (Jim's idea), Banana Spice.  This weekend we went to close up the cottage, and drove to NY where we pick cherries.  I picked some concords, and made 2 more gallons of wine.  We also bought juice from them.  We got 2 gallons of Fredonia, and 1 gallon of Vignole.  So, now I'm exhausted, but a year from now, I'll just have a glass of vino and go to bed.

Okay, about Jim.  Ehh, nothing's really changed.  :-P~~~~~~~~

Ummm.... should I be worried about you two? Just kidding! ;) It sounds great. My girlfriend and I will be having our annual applesauce making all-day event tomorrow. It's a lot of work but we enjoy the fruit (i.e. apple) of our labor all year.
Love to you!

Wish I could taste some! :(
Oh wait, by then... I probably could. :)

Sounds like a lot of fun, I decided this year I'm not going to be AS stressed out for Thanksgiving, so I signed up for some free cooking classes from William Sonoma to prepare myself a little bit. We'll see how that goes. Not so easy to learn to cook when you grew up with a mom that could make everything! Posted some new pictures on facebook of K, R, & Max... I don't see you on there very much, go take a peek!

Thinking of you both, stay warm!!
