April Fools

Hello Everyone:

I bet you are all glad I didn't play an April Fool's joke on you. Something like, Jim's cancer is back....April's Fools. I wouldn't dare. Johnny would kill me. He's not forgiven me for the April's Fools jokes I played on him as a kid...or the Werewolf pains....LOL. Inside joke. Sorry.

Well, Yes, Maddy, and Kimber, I did mean you. And Amy and Kristen and Nancy and...All you wonderful women of my church. I love you all. You are sooooooo special and I miss you so much.

We have problems here. Big problems. HUGE. We're homeless. Sort of, kind of. We can't go home because of the mold problems in our house. Jim could die. That's it in a nut shell. But you know what. I'm too exhausted to go into it. I'll worry tomorrowThe doctor was adamant. I knew this, but didn't tell Jim, but it came out... I have been hinting and trying to break it to Jimj gently. For now, I have my basement apartment. Maybe Bob and Shelley want permanent boarders. They do have an inground pool here, and we watch movies with surround sound and the picture is like being at the small movie theatre, about 12 feet by 6 feet. or something like that. And Shelley cooks. :) The kids are fun. Hmmmm. But we would miss all of you in Pittsburgh.

Jim's appt was today. We are totally exhausted. We went to the Hilton last night and got up early and didn't get home until about 4 today. Jim had physicial therapy, which is good, because Jim hurt himself bending over. He's so deconditioned after being in bed for so long, that one twist, and he's pulling muscles and such. He's got a long row to hoe yet. Speaking of hoeing. That "don't touch dirt" thing, kind of can be forever. And he can't walk through the leaves and stir up leave debris and such. No leaf mold. He can't lay mulch. I guess this goes in line with the no mold in the home thing. Anyway.

Well, I will post maybe tomorrow or so and post a pic of Jim. His hair is looking good.

We miss spring in Pittsburgh and being home for Easter and stuff. Wow, that makes Thanksgiving, Christmas and now Easter that we aren't home. So weird.

Good golly, you just can't stop checking the blog for a day or two or you're completely behind! Gloria, fear not, we're all going to still be here for you when you return. For crying out loud,I'm hoping at least some of us can Bible study again...because I can tell you my "I'll just plug away on my own" routine is not working so well for me...apparently, accountability is key in my life :-).

Now, on the more practical side... What all needs to be done in your house to take care of the mold? Is this something that your church family can rally behind and get taken care of for you while you're away recuperating? Keep me posted, and I can try talking to the "right" people (whoever they are...I'm sure Kim can help direct us).

Lastly, Rachel, I don't know you, but I want you to know that I am blessed regularly by what you write. Thank you for your candor and honesty...your testimony is encouraging to us all.

Love you, Gloria...hoping you'll be home in time to see my overly fat belly!

Keep healing, Jim...we're pulling for you!

Love,
K

J & G + Friends >

Just to confuse you ..... we're near mid autumn. Nights are now somewhat cooler, down to 9C but daytime is a pleasant 20C. Abbey came over and did raking up of the pin oak leaves, mowing & clipping.

A staggering $276M was donated to help bushfire victims.

The F1 Grand Prix was held last Sunday. The new football season is now into Round 2.... watch out for the rampaging Hawks. The Inernational Garden & Flower Show opened today. One of Christian's 30th Birthday gifts was a voucher to dive with the sharks at the aquarium. To go one better, Abbey & Steve intend to go in the crocodile pool when they head to the Territory for a holiday near the end of May.

Sean has found a new woman - Rachel ... yet to meet her.

Sue's thyroid toxicosis is getting out of control, again. My retroperitoneal fibrosis is still subject to the never ending rounds of scans & tests but as I say always, "I'm in control !".

Looking forward to the new pic of Jim.

Love & Prayers

Boy, Gary, Australia really is on the other side of the earth, isn't it? Raking Pin Oaks? I'm glad our fall is over and spring is starting. Thanks for keeping me up to date and for keeping in touch.

How wonderful that so much help came your way for the fires. WTG world.

Kristen: It's no easy fix, so forget about it. I am seriously considering...I don't know what. Can't go there.

And yes, I'm with you on the bible study.

AND YOU WOULD LOVE RACHEL. My walk with the Lord would not be the same without her. I know a few people have e-mail her or contacted her via facebook...but I have one thing to say...

RACHEL IS MINE, AND NONE OF YOU CAN HAVE HER. ;)

K, you bless me too. All of you in your own ways. I've been friends with Rachel for very long, and she really is an amazing person. I think we all are. That's why we are all friends. :) Good company, you know.

I want to be home to see you fat, too. Cause I have the feeling I will never see you fat unless your preggers. Remember my first impression of you. One of those rich well dressed skinny women. LOL. ;)
