Home from the NIH

Well, we are home from the NIH. I bet "you" didn't even know we were going. Well some of you didn't.

Jim's appt. with the pain clinic didn't go that well. We basically have to start going to a pain clinic up here. They can't work with him unless he can come in every 2 weeks, and well, we just can't drive there every 2 weeks, so we have to use the pain clinic here. You know. The one that thought Jim was faking his pain 2 years ago so that he could cop some drugs. Yeah, that one. LOL. However, Jim has to switch to Medicare healthcare, and we're not sure what that means yet. So we'll see what this next leg of the journey brings.

Jim received 6 immunizations. Polio, DPT, etc. etc. They want to put him on immune suppressants again because the GVHD on his legs is not healing, and he has to be GVHD free for 6 months to receive a needed immunization at 24 months. We don't feel too good about that, as his immune system is already taxed, so we're praying about that one.

We have to go back in 3 months for another PET scan and more immunizations. The Immunizations will take a few years to get back. So, anyways, that's the news on this homefront.

The snow has still not melted. On the grass or in my bones. Come spring.

I knew you were back home ... the OZ ASIO satellite above Wible Run sent me the secret signal.
Important that the NIH send a comprehensive referral letter to the pain clinic in Pittsburgh, otherwise I can imagine you'll have heaps of testy interaction with them.
Won't be long before the Spring and Easter messages of new life descend upon you. Keep an eye for echnidas and wombats this year.
